Fashion bastions of Darwin

Elevated (corner Knuckey and Cavenagh Streets)

Head upstairs to this fabulous attic space. It’s a warehouse of treasures, especially their selection of Rant clothing, my favourite layered clothes. Designer clothing, all Australian, is enticingly hanging in various nooks and crannies around the space and it’s intriguing to explore. Elevated also has a range of gifts, from soaps and teas to jewellery or leather.  It is one of my first stopovers for Christmas ideas.

Viva La Body (in Cavenagh Street)

1950 style frocks of detailed pattern and colours hang on dummies around the windows. I love those tiny waists, the wide belts challenging to say the least. Inside the store is an eclectic mix of not only clothing, but also shoes made of recyclable rubber, chunky jewellery and soaps. Soaps are handmade with exotic spices and pure essential oils, making a wonderful gift.
